Agra is a name which needs no
introduction, extremely popular with the tourists Agra is a priced jewel of the
Indian Tourism Industry. This ancient city of India is home to three UNESCO
World Heritage Sites and is held synonymous with the grand monument of love the
Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal alone draws in a large number of tourists from all
parts of the world. Agra today is a peculiar mix of the new and old with the
old buildings fighting to mark their presence amidst the numerous small shops
and stalls crowding the streets of the city. Love it or hate it, Agra still
manages to attract tourists with its charm and an air of enigma surrounding it.
Agra witnessed its golden era under
the Mughal rule where it served as the capital of the Mughal bastion and grew
and flourished to its limits. Sadly, with the passage of time the city lost its
grandeur and commercialization hawking over the charm of the city. Even amidst
all oddity this petite little city sitting by the banks of River Yamuna, it
still manages to look mesmerizing on a moonlit night, with millions of stars
ogling at its beauty.

Sikandra, Itmad - Ud - Daulah's Tomb, Jama Masjid, Chini Ka Roza, Fatehpur
Sikri and much more. Along with sightseeing, there are plenty of other recreational
activities offered in the region from exploring the local markets famed for its
leather goods, perfumes, bangles, etc to gorging on the local culinary delights
especially the remarkably delicious Agra chats and pethas (sweet).
There is also no dearth of good
hotels and resorts in Agra, catering to the lodging needs of the multitude of
tourists thronging to the region. Being one of the prominent tourist hubs of
India, Agra is home to innumerable hotels present across all budget segments to
fit all travel budgets found at almost every corner of the city.
Agra is also well connected to the
rest of the country by means of air, rail and roadways. The city has its very
own domestic airport and several major and small railway stations that
effectively connect the city to every corner of the country.
